Dr Chris Cramphorn is the module leader for the Business Information and Decision Making module on the Online MBA.
Chris operates a portfolio career, teaching at various universities, consulting to business, government & higher education institutions, and advising venture capital firms and start-ups.
He is fascinated by complex problems and innovation, and has applied his skills to real world problems such as responses to climate change, resilience in supply networks, strategic insight utilising big data, and also educational, entrepreneurship & employability requirements over the next twenty years.
He currently advises several universities in the UK and Europe on innovating teaching & learning, improving research impact, and enhancing knowledge transfer. Government and international organisation consulting work includes improving responsible and technology enhanced entrepreneurship in developing nations, and developing low environmental/high social impact supply networks.
Additionally, Chris’ applied research for venture capital firms builds upon industrial ecosystems thinking to enhance investment decision-making models. His own investments range across digital/cloud/big data start-ups, alternative energy, and new material based additive (3d printed) production systems. Beyond these areas, Chris advises businesses on strategic foresight and growth, on the use of data to improve performance and stakeholder value, and on business model innovation linked to digital opportunities, circular economic models, and social/environmental impact.
He is module leader for the Business Information and Decision Making module on the Online MBA, has taught on areas including information systems, entrepreneurship, strategy & business model innovation, and research methodology & analysis, and supervised students at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels.
