James Hind

Dr James Hind is the Lecturer in Statistics in the School of Science and Technology. He teaches the Statistical Approach to Data Analytics module the Online MBA with Data Analytics course. Dr. Hind is also Admissions Tutor for the Maths team and works on outreach, employability and placement projects.

Dr Hind's research interests include Liquid Crystal Physics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics pedagogy, eLearning and Data Analysis. Dr Hind was previously a Research Fellow in Bioinformatics at the John Van Geest Cancer Research Centre. Dr Hind has received two grants from The National Higher Education Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (HE STEM) programme to look at pedagogic and student employability issues between 2010 and 2011.

He has also carried out research by YouGov in 2017, commissioned by Tetley Tea to mark its 180th birthday, analyzing factors in all possible variables of making a cup of tea finding over 24 million possible ways to make a cuppa.
