Roy Stratton

Roy is a Reader in Operations and Supply Chain Management. He leads the Operations and Supply Chain Management academic team within the Division of Management and is the Director of the Centre for Business Performance and Lean Leadership. Roy is the module leader for the Operations Management module on the online MBA. 

He has developed and leads a portfolio of MSc programmes centered on the Theory of Constraints delivered in partnership with QFI Consulting. Roy is an active researcher and supervises numerous international PhD and DBA students as well as undertaking industry-based government funded research projects centred on focused continual improvement.

Roy's research interests are in applying, developing and extending continuous improvement theory in operations and supply chain management across environments within manufacturing, construction and healthcare. He is particularly interested in buffer management and the strategic integration of TOC, lean and six-sigma. His current research covers automotive, aerospace, grocery, textile, construction and healthcare sectors. His specialist research expertise is in case study and action research.

He is particularly interested in prospective research students who have been practitioners and would like to undertake field research on a part or full time basis via PhD or DBA.
