Key information for the Online MSc course

When can I start the course?
For the full masters, there are three intakes per year in September, January, and May. If you are interested in studying a short course, speak to a recruitment coordinator to find out more.

How long does the online course take to complete?
The Online MSc Construction Project Management course can be completed in two and a half years. If you want to take short CPD courses, you can complete your studies in 8 weeks.

What is the time commitment for studying online?
You should allocate approximately 12.5 - 15 hours per week for your studies (unless you study more than one module at a time via short CPD courses, in which case it will be between 25-30 hours per week).

Are classes held at specific times?
Our online course can be undertaken at any time of the day, giving you the flexibility to study when it suits you. Your assignments will have specified due dates that must be met.

How much does the course cost?
Tuition fees for the entire 2.5-year course are £11,000 and can be paid in instalments of £820 per module. If you would like to study one CPD course, the fee is £995 for 8 weeks. If you study via CPD courses and would then like to transfer onto the full masters programme, the difference in module fee will be reimbursed to you.
Fees are for the 2020/2021 academic year intake and will not increase so long as you complete your studies within 3 years of enrolment.

Can I take the course while in full-time employment?
Yes, online study is well suited to students who have a full-time work engagement or family obligations, and can be completed on a module-by-module basis.

Do I have to come to campus to complete the course?
No, the entire course is completed online.

Why is the RICS accreditation important?
RICS is the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property, infrastructure, and construction. This endorsement is a hallmark of the quality of our online course. According to RICS, accredited-course graduates are 2-3 years ahead of non-accredited course graduates. Read more about RICS in our article.

Is this programme RICS accredited?
The full masters course is RICS accredited. However, short CPD courses in construction project management are not.

Do we accept transfer credits?
Unfortunately we don't currently accept transfer credits, unless you are transferring from one of our CPD courses onto the full masters.

What are the admissions requirements?
Prospective students must have:
BSc 2.2 (Hons) in a construction-related subject or relevant professional body membership (usually chartered status)
APEL of relevant work experience
Applicants with non-standard entry requirements and / or relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Can you study more than one module at a time?
If you are applying for short CPD courses, so long as your timetable permits, you can study two CPD courses at any one time. For the full masters, we do not offer that right now.

Will I get the same access to materials?
Whether you are studying the full masters or short CPD courses, you will have the same level of learning materials to support your studies.

Will I have the same access to university support services?
You will have access to our dedicated online student services team, who can help answer any queries you have.

Will I get a transcript?
Yes. Following the completion of your studies, you will be sent your transcript that displays your new qualification.

What are the alumni benefits?
The alumni benefits are different for full masters students and short CPD course students. Full masters students will receive the same alumni benefits as campus-based students. If you complete a short course online, you will not be eligible for all alumni benefits. For example, you will not be able to apply for the alumni discount unless you have previously studied a full degree qualification.
