Sam Mamphey

Dr Sam Mamphey

Dr Sam Mamphey is a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying at the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment. He is the module lead for the Cost Planning and Estimating module and teaches across both undergraduate and postgraduate quantity surveying degree programmes.

Sam also has experience and expertise in other areas including procurement, contract administration and contractual practice. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), an Associate Member of the RICS and holds Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Prior to Nottingham Trent University, Sam lectured as an academic at Coventry University, teaching on their BSc and MSc quantity surveying programmes. Before academia, Sam practiced initially as an Estimator for several years, then worked in private practice as a Consultant Quantity Surveyor.

As a Consultant, he worked for some of the UK’s leading global quantity surveying firms in London during which time he developed expertise in contract administration, procurement and tendering and cost management. He has experience working on a variety of projects in sectors such as education, residential, commercial refurbishment, transportation, hospitality and corporate fit outs.
