Nottingham Business School (NBS) has been awarded the prestigious EQUIS accreditation – putting it into an elite group of business schools worldwide.
The EQUIS accreditation reflects NBS’ commitment to providing business and management education that is personalized, experiential, internationalized and sustainable.
Fewer than 1% of business schools around the globe hold both EQUIS and AACSB accreditation, and only 19 out of over 130 business schools in the UK – elevating NBS’ status as one of the most prestigious business schools in the world.
This accreditation reflects the School’s high-standard of teaching and research excellence as well as NBS’ position as a leading business school and frontrunner in experiential and innovative learning.
NBS’ misson to develop responsible and sustainable business leaders who will have an impact on business and society is further echoed by this accreditation. As Professor Baback Yazdani, Dean of Nottingham Business School, explains:
“Gaining the EQUIS accreditation recognises the constant and inexorable focus of our School on continuous improvement which is at the heart of our culture and ethics. It also recognises our commitment to provide every single student with an education that is:
- personalised to the learner’s individual needs and ambitions
- always has an experiential, with placements, internships, industry projects and
- internationalised, with partnerships with 110 institutions around the world, and a staff and student community coming from over 100 different countries and opportunities to study and work abroad
- sustainable, with a responsible business ethos pervading every area of NBS.
“Our whole School is very proud of what has been achieved so far, and we very much look forward to building on this momentum to fulfil our mission of providing education and research that combines excellence with a positive impact on business and society”.
“Nottingham Business School is an example of a school which leverages its corporate connections and provides its students with an outstanding personalisation programme, which could serve as a best practice model in the sector.”
Martin Schader, EQUIS Director.
Martin Schader, EQUIS Director commented: “We are delighted to welcome Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University into the community of EQUIS accredited schools. Nottingham Business School is an example of a school which leverages its corporate connections and provides its students with an outstanding personalisation programme, which could serve as a best practice model in the sector. It is a true pleasure to congratulate on the success of a school which has moved up the quality improvement ladder, from having its BA International Business Suite accredited by EPAS (EFMD Programme Accreditation System) four years ago to achieving the leading international recognition for the whole institution.”
Current Online MBA student, William Walker, explains that NBS’s accreditation was one of the main factors in his decision to study at NTU: “NTU’s AACSB and ACCA accreditation, the fact that the course was 100% online and the overall pace of the course all added up to my selection of NTU as my preferred option for an Online MBA.”
